Within urban design this can be represented by the microclimate. The comfort zone of the human being which is directly influenced by climate, location and urban settings can create more or less comfortable outdoor environments. Through integration of microclimatic optimisation in the early planning tasks these intermediate tones can have an enormous influence on the latter energy demand of buildings and the comfort of the human being in and outdoors.

Looking at a sustainable built environment it is primarily about people. Not abstinence of comfort but to find the best solutions within the given framework motivates us in the BLAUSTUDIO. If we feel well in our buildings and cities and feel that these contribute to our commitment, we will carefully handle them.

BLAUSTUDIO reflects not only at the beginning, but from the beginning to the very end. This counts for the planning and realisation of projects but also for the life cycle approach of planning tasks. We use our experience and accompanying verification through life cycle analysis and life cycle cost analysis. Thus the planning team – as well as the client / investor – can have always the full picture in mind.

To use the full potential of sustainable and energy efficient design we support teams quite often already in competitions phases. As a result the right course for a smooth planning and realisation flow towards sustainable urban districts and buildings can be generated early in the design process. Of course, we can assist you in all planning phases and beyond. Sometimes only small answers to individual questions are missing.

In order to solve complex problems specific tools are used depending on the project and planning phase. These range from smaller analysis tasks in the preliminary design to detailed simulations of thermal or lighting issues in the later stages of planning.

For each project we clarify the issue, develop the methodology and and check the results with a scientific approach. But BLAUSTUDIO looks also critically on simulation results. We advise our costumers therefore about limitations of simulation or which question possibly can be answered only in approximation.

Working with BLAUSTUDIO means working with experienced experts in sustainable urban and architectural design. Interdependencies therefore will be identified early and suitable solutions be worked out.

For the implementation you benefit from our broad experience from practice, science and teaching alike; connected with the desire to inspire people, think outside the box and once to fully integrate non-specialist disciplines in projects.

Basically services are offered individually depending on the project type and status. Therefore, there is a conversation discussing the project and the relevant issues at the beginning of any collaboration. On this basis, a detailed scope and quotation will be worked out. Of course, the performance image can be adjusted during a project according to the requirements.

Services generally include all planning phases. In some cases it can be useful to enter the project even in advance of the project planning, e.g. in the project development phase, and to define important goals for the overall sustainability concept. We therefore also advise competition tender or competition entries to set the course at the earliest opportunity. A support after completion of a project with monitoring or user survey is also possible.
